Hello all
Summer 2024 was dominated by a General Election and it feels like much of 2025 has been dealing with the implications of it, following a slow start to Labour’s time in government. A combination of domestic and international events has created an uncertain marketplace but areas of opportunity are emerging at a time where more interest cuts are on the horizon.
It is another packed edition of ALL magazine with a variety of themes that reflect current market trends and tackle key issues facing developers and investors.
AI is on everyone’s lips and we look at the data centre market powering it; our asset management team review the considerations inherent with in situ refurbishments; and with a rise in receivership we assess the role of the court system. Further commercial investment trends explored include; the Drive Thru investment space, the rise of owner occupiers, the continuing impact of high net worth investors and the rise in lots of over £1m sold at auction. Our leasing teams focus on innovation, looking at both the re-use of the historic Royal Exchange and reimagining the built environment in collaboration with Ravensbourne University.
From a residential perspective, the looming Renter’s Right Reform and impact of Building Safety Act are two topics that merit tackling, as is the illustration of the stark housing delivery numbers we are seeing in the capital. Other “living” markets explored include the evolving care and private rented sectors and reduced volumes in the PBSA world.
As always, plenty of deals are highlighted, as well as a snapshot in to Allsop life. I hope you enjoy the read.
